We have some very exciting news to share: the updated Apollo 5K has entered pre-production. The source of the voltage leak and the solution to this problem were both identified in January, but we have been taking time to thoroughly verify the entire design of the product.

The solution to the voltage leak is to implement a more robust isolation between the solar charger and the internal chassis. We are also taking an extra step to construct the Apollo case out of high-quality ABS plastic to ensure you never feel so much as a static shock from the unit. The internal fix solves the problem, and the external fix is for everyone’s peace of mind.

Throughout this entire process, we have been in discussion with TUV, the internationally recognized German certification agency. They have approved the solution to the voltage leak. They will perform an extremely thorough inspection and testing of the entire product, after which it will become officially TUV-certified. Once this stage is complete, we will enter production.

We are extremely grateful for the support we’ve received from the off-grid community and we can’t wait to release the world’s best solar generator this summer. Be on the lookout for further updates.
