This is my second inverter replacing a standalone inverter and name brand charge controller. This thing is a beast and was very easy to hook to my existing PV array and grid split phase power source. The load is sent to a ProTran2 where I can manage various circuits (split phase and single phase). I also bought the Hysolis 48V 216AH battery which connected to the inverter via an included cable to monitor via RS485. The setup was very straight forward.
The packaging was substantial for both the inverter and the battery.
I sent several questions to Hysolis via email and they were answered within a day.
The last thing I did was setup Solar Assistant by connecting to the USB-B port on the inverter.
The only problem I have now is needing to buy and rack more panels to match the capability of this inverter/battery combination.
I recently purchased the SRNE APB 10kW inverter from Hysolis, and overall I’ve had a solid first impression.
The unit arrived in a timely manner and was packaged well. My only issue with the shipping process was the lack of clear tracking updates—I expected some kind of notification when it shipped. That said, when I reached out to Hysolis, they responded quickly and were helpful.
As for the inverter itself, it appears to be very well built. Everything is functioning as expected so far. I currently have it hooked up temporarily for testing. Based on today’s PV forecast, I should see around 16kW of solar production, so I’m looking forward to seeing how it performs under real conditions.
Idle consumption is a bit higher than I was hoping for, but honestly, that was expected with a unit of this size. Battery consumption when on grid bypass is also a little high compared to my smaller 3kW inverter that I’m currently using, but again, not surprising.
The settings can be a little confusing at first due to the sheer number of options, but there are a lot of useful features built in that should be very beneficial once everything is dialed in.
One nice touch is that they seem to have updated the case design—the knockouts are intact instead of being shipped with grommets, which I definitely prefer.
Overall, I’m happy I went with the APB over the ASP model I was originally considering. The added features really made the difference for me, especially the built-in breakers, more room for wire management, and the integrated PV disconnect, which should make installation cleaner and more convenient.
I’m hoping to get it permanently installed within the next few weeks so I can really put it through its paces and see how it performs long-term.
